In the 1982 show, unsigned & virtually unknown, he was booed & heckled because he wasn’t playing ‘folk blues’. He played thru the set and didn’t leave until his spot was over. 3 years later he headlined.
This deserves appreciation, not only for what he was, but for all the things that he wasn’t.
